M&A: Vertiseit Acquires MDT Medientechnik
Vertiseit is continuing its growth journey. The Swedish company has just announced the acquisition of MDT Medientechnik, a digital signage software vendor from Germany. MDT will be integrated into Vertiseit’s subsidiary, Grassfish.
The goal of the acquisition is to boost Vertiseit’s position in the European in-store market. MDT works with well-known clients like Deutsche Telekom and McDonald’s Germany across the DACH region. The company generates around EUR 1.8 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and has over 30,000 licenses in use. About 80% of its revenue comes from SaaS.
The deal is valued at roughly 87 million Swedish kronor (approximately 7.8 million euros), and was funded through Vertiseit’s the company’s own funds and existing credit lines. The acquisition is expected to slightly improve the group’s profitability in 2025.
Further Development of IXM Aqua
According to Jürgen Räsch, Co-Founder and Head of Development at MDT, the company has received interest from several investors over the past few years. “Vertiseit’s leading position within IXM, together with its long-term strategy and ambitious goals, made them stand out as our preferred buyer,” says Räsch.
Alexander Pfeil, Co-Founder and Head of Sales at MDT, shares a similar view: “Vertiseit’s clear strategy of partner-led growth and its strong position within customer experience create unique opportunities to strengthen our offering. We are confident that this will empower our partners with even greater innovation, reach, and long-term value.”
Beyond MDT’s existing licenses and customer base, its team will also contribute to the continued development of Grassfish’s IXM Aqua in-store experience platform.
Acquisition Completed
“With a shared commitment to partner-led growth and innovation, MDT is a strategic fit that strengthens our position as the European leader in In-store Experience Management,” says Johan Lind, CEO of Vertiseit. “Together, we will accelerate the digital transformation of in-store experiences across Europe.”
The acquisition was finalized on July 7, 2025, and will be included in Vertiseit’s financial reporting starting in the third quarter of 2025.
