DooH: d’strict’s Chameleon Adapts Media Art to Its Surroundings
Korean digital design company d’strict has introduced “Chameleon: Space in Color,” a media art project that combines artificial intelligence with anamorphic content for large-format digital displays.
The project showcases LED.ART, d’strict’s media art content platform, and its ability to adapt creative content to different physical environments. Taking its name from a chameleon’s ability to change its appearance, the concept adjusts elements including color, texture and the movement of light according to the characteristics of each location.
The video below shows d’strict’s “Chameleon: Space in Color” in action:
Content that fits the space
Instead of displaying identical creative across screens with different formats and surroundings, d’strict’s approach is intended to make the content part of the architecture. Depending on the location, visuals can be adjusted to create a more dramatic presentation or a calmer experience that better complements the surrounding environment.
The use of AI also gives d’strict greater flexibility in adapting media art across different screen formats and locations without treating each display as an entirely separate creative project. Anamorphic techniques add depth to the content, particularly on large-format LED displays.
