Brazil: Eletromidia Acquires Clear Channel Assets

Clear Channel sells its Brazilian business to the regional OoH market leader Eletromidia for $14 million. This move entails the total and final exit from the Latin American ad market.

After selling off its advertising businesses in Mexico, Chile, and Peru, Clear Channel is now finalizing its exit from Latin America by selling its Brazilian operations. Publibanca Brasil has been sold to Eletromidia for 80 million reais—around 14 million US dollars.

Eletromidia is already the biggest player in Brazil’s Digital-out-of-Home market, with 39,000 of its 60,000 ad spaces being digital. The deal adds about 6,000 new static and digital ad spaces in eleven major cities to Eletromidia’s network.

In addition to its out-of-home inventory, Eletromidia also owns the software provider 4yousee, the largest digital signage CMS in LATAM. Prior to the acqusition in the beginning of 2025, 4yousee already served as the company’s main supplier.

Exit from Latin America

For Clear Channel, this move is part of a bigger strategy to focus on its more profitable core markets—mainly North America and airport advertising. It had already sold its operations in Mexico, Peru, and Chile earlier this year to Global Vía Pública. With this latest sale, the company has officially exited the Latin American market.

The deal is expected to close sometime in 2025. Until then, both companies will keep running business as usual.
