Dubai: 500-Meter LED Screen to Replace Fountains

A digital landmark takes the place of an iconic one: while the Dubai Fountains undergo renovation, a 500-meter-long outdoor LED screen will light up the promenade. The project is being led by regional signage integrator Blue Rhine Industries.

Dubai-based digital signage integrator Blue Rhine Industries is setting a new record by replacing the Dubai Fountains with the emirate’s largest outdoor screen. The fountains won’t be completely removed, though; the 500-meter-long LED screen will serve as temporary entertainment while the iconic landmark undergoes renovation. This move is part of real estate mogul Emaar’s plan to maintain the visitor experience around his flagship buildings, the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, as reported by Timeout Dubai.

The new screen will be installed across from the promenade alongside the fountains. In addition to this digital replacement, the roughly 50 restaurants along the promenade will be exempt from rent during the four-month renovation period. The last fountain show took place on April 19.

Despite the temporary nature of the screen, it promises to be spectacular, as one of the longest in the world. According to invidis information, the wall will be made up of Infiled’s MV3.9 outdoor LED series.

This isn’t the first record-breaking installation by Blue Rhine Industries for Emaar. In 2023, the company created a 980-square-meter LED wall atop an 11-million-liter aquarium, which became known as Dubai’s largest indoor screen and one of the largest worldwide – also using Infiled LED.
