The Belgian digital signage integrator Digitopia has acquired Thisplays2, a retail signage and in-store music specialist also based in Belgium. This takeover creates a leading provider of digital signage, business music, and smart office solutions, with more than 34,000 touchpoints in the Benelux region.
The Dutch and Belgian digital signage market is dominated by international integrators like Gather by Econocom, M-Cube, Scala, and Zetadisplay. With over 25,000 active touchpoints and 45 employees, Digitopia sees itself as the leading independent digital signage integrator in the region. Digitopia also owns the digital signage CMS platform Centoview.
Digitopia has now announced the acquisition of its Belgian competitor Thisplays2. The owners of the retail specialist were looking for a new partner to ensure they were future-proof in the highly competitive digital signage market. They found what they were looking for in Digitopia.
A leading integrator with 20 million euros in sales and 34,000 touchpoints
With the acquisition, the consolidated Digitopia Group generates sales of 20 million euros with more than 50 employees managing over 34,000 digital signage touchpoints in six countries.
Jan Bussels will become CEO and, together with Sylvie Van de Leest, will take over the daily management of the companies in the Digitopia Group. Thisplays2 founder and director Bruno Hancké will remain in the joint company as retail director.
In addition to the customers, the takeover also gives Digitopia full access to the business music software Groevy from Thisplays2 as well as many years of experience with the French digital signage platform Zebrix from Manganelli based on Samsung Tizen.
