It took some digging but I eventually sorted out that this is a Gucci store opened last year at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, with LED displays effectively being the wall finishings for the full exterior of the store inside the terminal.
I’ve seen a few stores – usually in airports – using LED as part or much of their facades, but this is a case in which everything but the iconic logo over the two entryways is digital and active.
The store runs a series of animations described as kaleidoscopic interpretations of the House pf Gucci logo, as as other creative. It’s Gucci, so I don’t think we’ll see CLEARANCE SALE!!! or Black Friday messaging on here anytime soon.
No idea of the display supplier, but hoping whatever LED tech used protects against the potential bumps and scrapes of untold numbers of roller bags and luggage carts.
