ISE 2026: Cybersecurity Program to Expand into Full Summit

As cyber threats increasingly target networked AV systems, ISE will host a full-day Cybersecurity Summit where industry experts will provide practical strategies for secure operations, regulatory compliance, and building digital resilience.

ISE will continue its large-scale cybersecurity initiative next year by expanding the Cybersecurity Track into a full-day Cybersecurity Summit on the third day of the trade fair, February 5, 2026. This move responds to the growing security threats increasingly affecting the ProAV industry.

The announcement coincides with European Cybersecurity Month, an initiative by ENISA and the European Commission to raise awareness of digital security.

Networked AV systems as potential targets

As AV systems become more integrated into corporate networks, public institutions, and event venues, they face the same vulnerabilities as traditional IT infrastructures. Threats include ransomware, data breaches, social engineering, and denial-of-service attacks.

The Cybersecurity Summit will equip AV professionals with practical strategies to protect their systems, comply with regulatory frameworks such as NIS2 and ISO 27001, and embed cybersecurity into their overall business strategy.

Former police director to chair the summit

The summit will be chaired by Pere Ferrer i Sastre, former Director General of the Catalan Police (Mossos d’Esquadra), who brings expertise in public safety, digital transformation, and critical infrastructure management.

The program features keynotes and panel discussions with leading experts from both the AV and cybersecurity sectors, including:

  • Shaun Reardon (DNV Cyber) on building cyber resilience
  • Timo Kosig and Andrew Dowsett (Barco Control Rooms) on secure operations
  • Pedro Pablo Pérez (TRC) on protecting corporate communications
  • A panel with Laura Caballero (Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia), Folly Farrel (TÜV Süd), and Sergi Carmona (Veolia España) covering compliance, governance, and best practices

Cybersecurity as an industry imperative

With this new summit, ISE is addressing a challenge that is increasingly vital for manufacturers, integrators, and users of AV technologies. Strong cybersecurity practices are now essential for participating in public tenders, meeting regulatory requirements, and earning customer trust.
