Just like Teams and Zoom, Google Meet is now working with CMS providers to bring digital signage into the meeting room. With Comeen and Stratos Media, organizations can display company information on unused meeting room screens.
Google Meet hardware can now double function as digital signage displays: through partnerships with CMS providers Comeen and Stratos Media, Google allows all Workspace users to deploy signage in the meeting room. Both applications are now available in the Google Admin Console.
The goal is to use displays not only for interactive meetings but also for sharing company information. The two CMS solutions that Google partners with have different specializations: Comeen is positioned as a workspace experience platform, offering features like desk booking alongside digital signage. It also now includes a Gemini-powered subtitle feature that automatically generates subtitles in multiple languages.
Stratos Media, a long-standing Chrome OS partner, also serves many corporate customers. Its CMS integrates with Google services like Sheets, Drive, and Calendar, as well as external APIs, enabling automated content updates.
These two digital signage providers are not alone in their efforts to conquer meeting room. More and more CMS solutions are integrating with collaboration platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom Rooms, and now Google Meet. The goal is to unlock thousands of existing, but dormant touchpoints by being downloaded on meeting room displays. Meanwhile, Teams, Zoom and Google Meet aim to enhance the functionalities of their platforms.
