PPDS at ISE 2025: For Barça and the Pentagon

Barcelona | From a true-color LED solution for business-critical applications to a new LED series for sports arenas: PPDS showcases new products for specialized applications at ISE 2025.

PPDS wanted something special for the key visuals on its stand—something beyond mediocrity. Drawing inspiration from the masterpieces of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the company used modern AI applications to bring art to life. This blend of tradition and innovation perfectly describes PPDS’s own DNA.

Control room partnership

To meet these expectations, PPDS collaborates with specialists in each field. Recently, it partnered with the German company True Performance for control room solutions.

Founded in 1992 and based in Kassel, True Performance specializes in high-performance LED system solutions. In this partnership, it provides expertise in control and color accuracy, while PPDS supplies its LED solutions. The system also benefits from the remote device management in the Philips Wave software.

Made in Europe

The combined system is designed to be an attractive option for business-critical control rooms, including government and military applications. According to PPDS, True Performance’s headquarters in Germany and its TAA conformity—essential for working with U.S. authorities—provide key advantages. To reinforce the “Made in Europe” seal, PPDS plans to manufacture specialized LED series for this application exclusively at its factory in Poland.

By integrating PPDS and True Performance technologies, customers can achieve resolutions up to 7,680 x 4,320 pixels, 240Hz refresh rates, advanced grayscale and color accuracy, and ultra-low latency.

Pantone-certified

Ultra-low latency is backed by certifications from color specialist Pantone. True Performance is the first LED solutions provider to be both Pantone Validated and Pantone Skintone Validated.

These certifications are supposed to ensure optimal color display not only in the C&C sector but also in other high-end applications that require precise color accuracy. Martijn van der Woude, VP of Global Marketing and Business Development at PPDS, highlights displays for automotive design as an example, as well as brands like PPDS partner Oracle Red Bull Racing, which demand perfect brand representation.

The PPDS True Performance solution was not the only LED novelty unveiled by the manufacturer at ISE. They also introduced a completely redesigned portfolio of outdoor LEDs: the Philips Urban 5000, 6000, and 7000 series, developed for DooH, transportation, public facilities, and sports stadiums.

New outdoor LED

The Philips Urban LED 7000 comes with an IP66 rating and is available in pixel pitch options of 2.9, 3.9, or 4.8 millimeters. The 7000 series is designed to offer excellent black and color depth, with a brightness of up to 6,000 nits and a refresh rate of 3,840 hertz. For easy maintenance, all modules and components are accessible from both the front and rear.

The new Philips Urban LED 6000 Series is designed for viewing distances of 10 to 30 meters, making it suitable for large outdoor LED walls. With a refresh rate of 7,680 hertz and an IP65 protection rating, the 6000 series delivers a brightness of up to 7,200 nits. It is available in pixel pitch options of 6.67, 8.3, and 10 millimeters.

The Philips Urban 5000 Series is designed for LED boards in stadiums. At launch, it will be available in three pixel pitch options: 6.67, 8.3, and 10 millimeters. The series offers a brightness of up to 10,000 nits and is IP66-certified. With the upgraded outdoor series, PPDS aims to strengthen its presence in the sports sector. The company has already partnered with FC Barcelona, and the upcoming Spotify Camp Nou stadium, set to open in 2026, will feature Philips displays and LEDs.

From e-paper to all-in-one

Other novelties displayed at PPDS’ booth include an e-paper wall made up of four 32-inch tableaux displays. The all-in-one LED from the 5100 series was demonstrated in a 135-inch version with a motorized folding function that allows for efficient transport and quick setup.

Additionally, an LED strip from the 7000 series was displayed as a menu board. By eliminating the need for an LED controller, the product enables simpler integration, highlighting how PPDS is expanding LED applications across various fields. This is where PPDS aims to be at the forefront.
