AI will take center stage, software will take up more space, and e-paper will spark new discussions: here are some of the new technology highlights that we can expect at ISE 2025.
Most of the big names like Samsung, LG, and PPDS are still keeping a low profile when it comes to the new products they will be showcasing at ISE. But what we can definitely expect: Hardware such as digital signage displays with on-device AI, e-paper displays in new size dimensions, more experiments to integrate generative AI in CMS software platforms, and lots of hype around MicroLED. It will also be interesting to see what has happened in terms of sustainability or whether the focus has completely shifted to AI.
Here are some technology innovations that have been announced so far:
Platform upgrades by Samsung and LG
Samsung is set to continue refining its platform offerings, particularly with updates to its Visual Experience Platform (VXT), the successor to Magicinfo, and its IoT platform SmartThings Pro. According to Samsung’s Amit Chatterjee, the company plans to integrate VXT with AI platforms and Smartthings Pro, with new capabilities for digital signage screens, LED, e-paper, and soon, Hotel TVs.
Like Samsung, LG also launched a new cloud platform at last year’s ISE, the LG Business Cloud. Since then, there hasn’t been much noise around the offering, but now, LG announced an upgraded edition to be introduced at ISE 2025, which will include extended functionalities.
The cloud platform currently includes a CMS for digital signage and one for hotel TVs, asl well as a remote device management application. The new features include LG DooH Ads, which enables the integration of DooH advertising on professional displays, and LG Procentric Stay, a signage solution tailored for the short-term rental market, though LG did not provide further details about this new solution.

75″ E-Paper displays
Around NRF in early January, E Ink announced its latest e-paper panel for digital signage: a colored 75 inch model. In comparison: the largest color e-paper display seen at ISE 2024 was a 42 inch version. This will be a major upgrade to the energy-saving display technology that made its big comeback at ISE two years ago. The 75 inch panel will be showcased by manufacturers like Dynascan, which will adapt it for outdoor use.
Dynascan has also announced a wireless 13.3 inch display for indoor use based on an E Ink color panel as well as paper-sized formats like A1, A2, and A3.

LED advancements by Alfalite
In the LED segment, we won’t see the same major advancements as in the e-paper segment. One manufacturer that has updated its portfolio is Spanish company Alfalite. Their new Matix technology, integrated into the Neopix and UHD Finepix LED series, is designed with fully encapsulated LED modules for protection against impacts, liquids, and chemicals. Alfalite also says the technology improves heat dissipation, color homogeneity, contrast, and black levels.

Power Management Device by Nexmosphere
The Dutch company Nexmosphere, known for their extensive sensor ecosystem for digital signage, will be presenting a power management device called “Neo.” According to the company, Neo enables will enable considerable savings in energy costs for digital signage hardware. It’s a device the size of a media player, which connects to up to four AC devices such as displays and players. It allows for the energy consumption of each device to be measured individually.
Neo can be connected to a digital signage player via USB, set up for standalone use, or linked to a network through UTP or Wi-Fi. Pre-built online dashboards offer information and decision support. Nexmosphere provides all Neo users with a free basic dashboard, while advanced packages are available for extended features and detailed logging options. Nexmosphere has also formed several strategic partnerships with CMS and hardware providers that support its communication protocols.
