DooH: Largest free-standing LED screen

Seoul | The COEX- Center in Gangnam is one of the busiest and best-known locations in Seoul. Global and national brands want to be present here and DooH is one of their preferred media. Just next to the famous COEX 3D-Billboard from Samsung towers The Panras, a 26 meter high free-standing LED screen designed and built by LG.

LG Electronics developed the LED-landmark, from the foundation and the massive steel framework to the LED technology, for the Grand InterContinental Hotel Parnas next to the COEX Gangnam – in just 75 days.

Gangnam is where many of the most important flagship stores, offices and entertainment venues are located and also the center of DooH in Seoul. LG provides more than 500m² free-standing LED area.

This is also the case in Seoul-Gangnam, where the Grand InterContinental Hotel Parnas, JoongAng Ilbo – one of the three highest-circulation daily newspapers in South Korea – and the multiplex cinema chain Megabox, together with LG, have installed one of the largest free-standing LED video walls in the world.

The two-sided LED covers a total of 536m² and stands 28m high and 12m wide in front of the hotel. It took three months to build, equipped with 8.3mm pixel pitch outdoor LEDs and with 10,000 nits extremely readable even in direct sunlight. The LED is mainly used for DooH advertising and news from the South Korean daily newspaper JoonAng Ilbo and LG partner and cinema operator Megabox.
