Litemax Changes Up LCD Shapes; Goes Square and Super-Wide

One of the booths that grabbed my attention at Computex in Taipei last week was operate by a Taiwanese company called Litemax, which takes regular LCD glass and re-packages it in different shapes.

Super-wide LCDs is not new in itself – LG did it years ago – but what struck me here was the range this Taipei company offered. They had teeny ones for POS, super-wide ones for mass transport, and a really nice double-sided 27-inch square one that came with an Android player built in.

The company’s primary focus appears to be sunlight readable panels, but they’re clearly into all kinds of unique displays.
