Beijing opening ceremony shows what long-throw lenses and a lot of money can do

When most people were sleeping or heading to work, the Beijing Olympics opened with what I gather was a rather amazing technical display.

Judging by stills on Gizmodo, from getty Images, the opening ceremony organizers threw some BIG money athis and really showed what all is possible using projection technology.
