The Chinese TV manufacturer TCL debuts its first commercial display lineup at Infocomm, launching TCL Professional with 24/7 SoC displays, Android OS, and a 5-year warranty.
TCL, one of the world’s largest TV manufacturers, has unveiled its first commercial display lineup at Infocomm in Orlando. While the company had previously limited its professional display efforts to its sub-brand Moka – known for its SoC displays with Brightsign built-in – TCL is now entering the North American market directly with a new brand: TCL Professional.
Five-Year Warranty from the Get-Go
TCL Professional will offer a range of commercial-grade displays, including outdoor models. The initial lineup includes three SoC display series: TMN, TBN, and TEN. The TMN and TBN series are designed for 24/7 operation in high-demand environments and both run on Android 13. Notably, these two series come with a five-year warranty, which is more than the standard three years most competitors offer. The TEN series appears to target entry-level applications and runs on Android 9.
Videri as One of the First CMS Partners
In addition to standard LCD displays, TCL announced future plans to expand the lineup to include high-brightness LCDs and LED displays. TCL Professional is positioned as a software-agnostic hardware brand, and at Infocomm, the company is showcasing integrations with third-party platforms. Among them is a cloud-based content and device management solution from Videri.
To lead the commercial display business in the U.S., TCL has appointed Simon Shin as Head of the Commercial Display Division. Shin brings extensive experience, having previously led the B2B display unit at Hisense USA and holding a long tenure at LG.
“TCL sees an opportunity to bring the technology that millions of consumers have come to rely on in their homes into the U.S. commercial display market,” says Simon Shin. “We’re combining our world-class hardware with industry-leading partners and integrators to deliver a solution that is powerful, flexible, and remarkably easy to use.”
While global demand for smart TVs continues to rise, much of this growth is driven by the APAC region, and profit margins are increasingly slim. TCL’s move into the professional display segment offers an opportunity to diversify its portfolio, especially since it can source panels from CSOT, its sister company and the world’s second-largest panel manufacturer.
Delivering the Signage for the Next Olympics
From a branding perspective, TCL Professional benefits from a strong foundation. Its parent company has a long-term partnership with the International Olympic Committee through 2032. As a result, TCL’s professional displays will be used for signage and wayfinding in Olympic Villages at the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
