Background on Econocom: The IT Integrator with ProAV DNA

With a turnover of 2.75 billion euros, 8,500 employees, and offices in 16 countries, Econocom is one of Europe’s leading IT system integrators. With the acquisition of ICT AG, the group has also become the market leader in digital signage.

Econocom’s investment in ICT follows the “One Econocom” strategy presented in November 2023. A central element of this strategy is the establishment of a dedicated media technology and digital signage business unit as an important growth pillar – alongside the focus areas Workplace, Infrastructure, and Finance.

Econocom has had a limited presence in the DACH ProAV and digital signage market until now. By adding ICT’s live communication and media technology services – built over 35 years in the German market – Econocom will strengthen its position in the region.

Econocom Germany is part of the international Econocom Group. The European market leader for digital transformation and managed services has a presence in 16 countries and employs over 8,500 people worldwide. Econocom is the only European provider to offer a complete range of services along the entire digital value chain: from financing and technology equipment to services.

Econocom is listed on the Euronext stock exchange in Brussels and recorded a turnover of 2.74 billion euros in 2024. The company has been active in Germany for nearly 40 years. Around 160 employees support medium-sized businesses, large corporations, and the public sector with technology procurement, financing, and services. Until now, Econocom has focused mainly on IT services – but this is set to change with its majority takeover of ICT AG, which also employs 160 people.

Econocom and Digital Signage

In some European markets – particularly in Benelux and Spain – Econocom has already been one of the leading digital signage providers. As in Germany, the Group acquired leading digital signage and ProAV integrators following a buy-and-build strategy.

Econocom’s fourth strategic pillar (ProAV and digital signage) was launched in 2024 in some key markets under the brand “Gather with Econocom.” In Germany, the brand is scheduled to be launched in fall 2025. Since the beginning of the year, Borja Janariz – formerly of LG Electronics – has been responsible for the Gather with Econocom business.
