Digital Signage Software Compass: Evolution in Big Steps

A tool for end customers and continuous enhancements: invidis presented new innovations for the Digital Signage Software Compass at the Tech Forum on the day before DSS Europe.

The invidis Digital Signage Software Compass, the only independent comparison tool for digital signage software, is becoming increasingly popular and now covers around 65 percent of the DS software market. 35 software providers have already integrated their product – and the trend is rising. The Compass experts from invidis, Marco Wassermann and Maria Handwerker, presented these figures at the Tech Forum at the Munich Hilton Airport – and also showed the direction in which the Compass is developing.

The focus of the presentation was the new search tool (invidis reported). This opens up a new target group for the Compass: end customers. This is because the original function provided them with too many insights – and was confusing as a result. A filter function in the new plan allows users to search specifically for the criteria that are most important for their project. Because just as the end customer always thinks in terms of the application, the tool is also designed for this.

Quality Score for ranking

To rank the individual providers, invidis uses the Use Case Quality Score, which was developed on the basis of intensive market research. The ranking is also influenced by a Region Score Bonus. For example, if a company only serves the DACH market , it would be counterproductive to use it in North America.

Interesting for software providers: The lists also offer a contact sales button that sends an email directly to the sales department. However, this only appears for providers who have also registered for a fee.

invidis sees the Compass as a living tool. Just as the software landscape is changing rapidly, the Compass is also constantly being adapted. The next big changes are already on the horizon – keyword AI.

Various options

In addition to the Search Plan, there is also the comprehensive comparison tool, which is aimed at software providers, integrators and distributors. This tool, which enables a detailed and transparent comparison of CMS solutions on the market, will be part of the Benchmark Plan in future.

A preview function of the tool is new: Interested parties now have the option of requesting a demo account. This gives them access to the full functionality of the comparison tool, but without being able to view the actual data. Once the subscription has been taken out, the provider information will also be visible.

The third subscription option, the Enterprise Plan, will give users access to both tools – the search tool and the comparison tool. The Enterprise Plan will also be available from End of May.
