The Red Bull Racing Technology Campus is now home to a spectacular Philips LED wall. Measuring about 46 meters wide, it the largest indoor LED wall ever installed in Europe at an event space.
The Red Bull Racing Technology Campus in Milton Keynes, UK, now boasts a 46.25 meter wide and 2.75 meter high LED wall. The wall is installed in the heart of the site, the MK-7.
The MK-7 is an event space that spans over 1,000 square meters and showcases a vast collection of Red Bull Racing memorabilia. A highlight is the display of F1 cars, ranging from the team’s 2005 debut to those driven by reigning three-time world champion Max Verstappen.
As part of the MK-7’s new design, Red Bull Racing installed the horseshoe-shaped Philips LED which is currently the largest one in an indoor event space in Europe, according to PPDS
PPDS and Oracle Red Bull Racing have had a partnership since 2022; just recently, PPDS equipped the marketing office in Milton Keynes with digital signage displays.
Cooperation with Ruitech and Vogel’s
PPDS partnered with Dutch AV integrator Ruitech Solutions to install the current LED wall. Since the MK-7 lacks windows and natural light, the Philips Public LED 7000 series was chosen for its high refresh rates, excellent color and brightness quality, and a pixel pitch of 2.4 millimeters, with a total resolution of 19,240 x 1,144. According to PPDS, the 7000 series was also chosen for its low power consumption.
Active Health Monitoring is in place to enable proactive maintenance. Integrated cabling is intended to enhance the room’s aesthetic, with a total of 4 kilometers of cables laid throughout the space.
The project was completed in 23 days, starting with the construction of a special free-standing mounting system supplied by AV mounting specialist Vogel’s. This was followed by the installation of a total of 513 LED panels. The content is managed using a Novastar H9 LED controller and a CMS system.
Special PPDS event for the premiere
Nick Kenton, Director of Hospitality and Events at Oracle Red Bull Racing, comments: “The MK-7 event space is home to a number of winning race cars and the space needed to adapt to allow flexibility for growth and change, as well as a fresh look and feel, with cutting-edge technologies to match. Working with PPDS, our visions for this stunning venue have been fulfilled, with the new Philips LED wall able to deliver the cutting-edge technology and performance befitting of our brand with the capabilities we craved.”
The Philips LED wall was officially unveiled during the PPDS event “Advancing DV-LED” on September 10. Christian Horner, Team Principal and CEO of Oracle Red Bull Racing, was among the guest speakers.
