It is now official: AUO Display Plus is acquiring Avocor. The deal aims to support AUO’s venture into vertical markets, offering entire solutions instead of just LCD panels.
AUO Display Plus (ADP), a subsidiary of AUO Corporation, has officially announced its acquisition of Avocor, following an agreement made over a month ago. This acquisition builds on around two years of collaboration between the two companies. By integrating Avocor, ADP aims to enhance its expertise in interactive displays and expand further into the education and corporate markets. This, in turn, correlates to AUO’s larger goal of establishing its solution business alongside its white label products.
Avocor, founded in 2016 and based in Wilsonville, Oregon, has expanded its presence in Europe in recent years. Its London office manages all EMEA operations. The company specializes in interactive large-format displays, mainly used in conference rooms and classrooms.
AUO Display Plus has been a partner of Avocor since 2022 and says to have contributed to the expansion of Avocor’s product offering through its investment. The acquisition is part of AUO’s biaxial transformation strategy, through which the Taiwanese display panel manufacturer aims to deepen its solutions business in vertical markets.
“We are excited to embark on this journey with Avocor,” says Frank Ko, CEO and President of AUO. “This strategic move will further strengthen our presence in the solution business while also amplifying the cross-business synergies within the AUO group.
Avocor CEO to take on new posts within AUO
“All sides are incredibly excited to welcome Avocor into the AUO Display Plus family,” says Scott Hix, CEO of Avocor, who has now become the General Manager of AUO’s Education and Enterprise Business Group and Chief Marketing Officer at AUO Display Plus. “With AUO and ADP’s support, Avocor is positioned for unprecedented growth and expansion, enhancing our product roadmap and accelerating our go-to-market strategies.”
The acquisition is expected to strengthen AUO Display Plus and Avocor’s capabilities in several areas including product development, go-to-market strategies, supply chain management, and regional business operations. AUO has not disclosed the financial details of the deal.
