We’ve been gone! True, but for good reason: We’ve been putting all our resources into writing our Yearbook – the “Digital Signage Bible” as we jokingly like to call it. Now that it’s in the process of being printed, we’re bringing you the highlights of next week’s Digital Signage Summit Europe.
What once was a minor component of a digital signage job, now makes up close to 15 percent of a project: Software and services. This significant shift in the digital signage value chain is the central theme of both the invidis yearbook and the upcoming Digital Signage Summit Europe (DSSE) that will take place next week in Munich.
If you’ve never attended the Digital Signage Summit – it’s best described as a conference with a retreat-like atmosphere. It’s two days of presentations, panel discussions, exhibitions, and several networking events – all in one spot, the Hilton Munich Airport Hotel. It’s the ideal setting to get the digital signage industry talking about its most pressing issues – creating software standards, recognizing trends, lowering CO2 emissions, and ultimately: bringing digital signage out of its niche into the mass market.
Industry Leaders and Disruptors
5 keynotes and 38 panels will center around exactly these topics. The two invidis hosts Florian Rotberg and Stefan Schieker will be joined on stage by C-level executives from prominent providers across Europe and North America. The full conference program is available on the DSSE website.
Pre-Conference Networking Event
For the first time, a networking reception sponsored by Google will kick off the event on the evening before the official start. On Tuesday, May 21, from 5 to 7 p.m., attendees can gather on the terrace of the Sportalm Munich Airport, adjacent to the Hilton Munich Airport, for drinks and networking. This pre-conference event provides a valuable opportunity for participants to establish connections before the official program starts. Any delegate can register on the DSSE website.
Women in Technology Networking
Speaking of networking, this will be something that you will not want to miss: For the first time, DSSE – together with event partners Lenovo, Google, and Intel – is hosting a networking opportunity for women in the industry and their supporters: “Women in Technology Networking: Creating a Space for Women’s Perspectives in Technology Transformation.”
The Women in Technology Event will kick off the second DSSE day with coffee and snacks. It will take place on Thursday, May 23, from 9 to 10 a.m. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with committed executives from the industry. The event will be hosted by Johanny Payero, Director of Global Advanced Solutions Marketing at Lenovo. Speakers will include representatives from Lenovo, Intel, Google, and the AVIXA Women’s Council DACH.
As places are limited, participants are asked to register in advance on the DSSE website.
invidis Software Compass Launch
What is the best software on the market? This question has been on our minds for a long time. 18 months ago, invidis finally decided to start creating an independent and detailed benchmarking of the countless solutions on the market – the first in the industry. Now the result is ready and will launch in the form of the invidis Software Compass at DSSE. The compass is designed help end-users and integrators find the best software for their specific needs.
invidis Yearbook 2024 Unveiling
It’s that time of the year again: the latest edition of the invidis yearbook is set to launch. As always, DSSE attendees will be the first to get their hands on a copy. The 2024 edition is titled “Signage & Software. Products – Solutions – Platforms”. It includes the highly anticipated software ranking, a 101 chapter on retail media, and the invidis Market Compass – an essential read for professionals in the digital signage industry.
invidis Strategy Awards
The DSSE will also feature the invidis Strategy Awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in the digital signage industry over the past year. Seven companies will be honored in categories such as DooH & Retail Media, Green Signage, Shared Spaces & Engaging Experiences, Software & Platforms, Industry Leadership, Innovation, and Rising Star.
In contrast to other invidis rankings, the Strategy Awards are not based on quantitative key figures, on the qualitative evaluation of the invidis consulting team.
21 companies are featured on the shortlist:
Beer garden Evening
The first day of the conference will conclude with the traditional evening event in the Airbräu beer garden – with Bavarian cuisine, Augustiner beer, and plenty of time for networking and informal discussions.
We hope to see many of our readership at DSSE! If you’re not attending, we will speak to you can count on our revived invidis confidential series.
