Barcelona | At ISE, Samsung presented the latest IT security and compliance certifications (ISO 27001 and 27701) for Samsung VXT and Samsung Magicinfo. Current IT security and compliance certifications are increasingly becoming requirements for participation in enterprise tenders.
At ISE 2024, it was the digital signage market leader Samsung Electronics that once again dominated the headlines. This time less with the next hardware revolution – although the transparent MicroLEDs were spectacular – but with the launch of the global digital signage platform VXT and the introduction of the IoT platform Smart Things for the B2B sector.
Between all the noise it was almost overlooked that the company had received the IT security and compliance certifications ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 27701:2019 from the British Standards Institution (BSI) for its digital signage content management systems. The three systems awarded the certifications are the new Samsung VXT platform, Magicinfo and the Lynk Cloud hotel solution.
ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is the leading standard for information security management systems (ISMS). As an extension of the 27001 standard, ISO/IEC 27701:2019 specifies requirements and provides guidance for establishing, maintaining and improving a Privacy Information Management System (PIMS) for business organizations.
“Protecting customer data and operations has become a fundamental industry requirement,” said Alex Lee, executive vice president of visual display business at Samsung Electronics. “Awarding these certifications is a testament to our ongoing efforts to ensure our digital signage solutions are highly reliable and trustworthy platforms for customers.”
By obtaining these certifications, Samsung can demonstrate that its CMS platforms adhere to the highest standards of information security. The globally recognized certifications underscore the importance of securely managing company and customer data, with a focus on data integrity, availability and confidentiality.
