The two founders and namesakes – Lutz Kern and Andreas Stelly – are leaving the AV distributor they founded 19 years ago. Lutz Kern is leaving already at the end of the year, Andreas Stelly will remain on board until 2024 for the handover process of the Midwich subsidiary. An era comes to an end.
In 2013 the British AV distributor Midwich took over the majority of Hamburg-based Kern & Stelly. Ten years later, it’s finally over for the founding duo. The two thoroughbred entrepreneurs have shaped the AV industry in the DACH region and have retained a family touch company culture despite the increasing size of the company. The Franconian competitor Prodytel was only taken over in autumn 2023.
Saying goodbye is not easy for the two founders, which is why they recorded a podcast in which they answer open questions and thank everyone who supported and accompanied them on their journey. Of course, one or two emotional anecdotes should not be missing.
After 19 years it’s over
“After 19 exciting, beautiful and successful years, we are convinced that the right time has come for a change. The company is in an excellent position. We have a highly qualified, motivated team and offer the most comprehensive range of solutions in the industry. Our experienced management team will be supplemented by a new managing director who will ensure continuity and successfully develop the company – true to the motto: Kern & Stelly go, Kern & Stelly stays!”
While Lutz Kern will leave the company at the end of 2023, Andreas will remain Stelly will remain in his current position until 2024 in order to intensively support the transition process.
