Singapore | Since October 2013 – and thus for ten years – the world's largest LCD video wall has been shining brightly at the Suntec conference center in Singapore. With 664 “seamless” LCD displays, Suntec The Big Picture remains an impressive installation even for today’s standards. invidis was on site and was surprised: the LG wall is still in good working order, and all displays were operational during the site inspection.

Record-Breaking Video Wall: Impressive even after 10 years
The Suntec conference and shopping center in the heart of Singapore features an impressive open entrance area. Eight escalators lead from the driveway to the conference center on the third floor. Plenty of space for a digital canvas – that’s what the operators and LG thought over ten years ago. The idea of a record-breaking video wall was quickly born in Korea and Singapore. For this purpose, 664 LG seamless displays (55″) were combined to form a three-story high and 60-meter-wide video wall. A content concept was developed by the Korean agency Minydesign.

Ten years later
invidis inspected the video wall ten years after its inception and was amazed by the image quality. Of course, the long service life in an unprotected environment is evident on some of the displays. The video wall is actually located in the covered entrance area of the conference center, but without a protective glass facade and air conditioning.
The content is current and was visibly updated during our tour. It can be assumed that some of the original 664 displays were replaced. However, this requires a sophisticated maintenance concept and continuous monitoring. Kudos to the integrators involved and Suntec.
