Most Sold Professional Displays: Samsung Stays at the Top

For the 17th consecutive year, Samsung has sold the most professional displays worldwide, according to Omnia. But the market is undergoing a profound transformation.

Samsung Electronics has announced that, according to market research firm Omdia, it sold the most professional displays worldwide in 2025, measured by units. This marks the manufacturer’s 17th consecutive year in first place. Samsung shipped more than 2.5 million units and achieved a market share of 35.2 percent.

Its continued leadership comes at a time of major transformation. LED is taking market share away from LCD, and tectonic shifts disrupt the production process. Korean and Japanese manufacturers, which dominated the business, are withdrawing from parts of the production chain, while companies from China, such as Hisense and TCL, are taking over. In the TV sector, TCL took the top spot from Samsung for the first time in December 2025.

Innovation as the Answer

The response from Samsung & Co.? Entering the solutions business, for example, as Samsung demonstrated with its VXT platform. In addition, Samsung is focusing on innovations and product differentiation in the LCD business. This was evident at ISE this year: In addition to e-paper displays, the manufacturer introduced the Spatial Display for 3D effects as well as the advanced MicroRGB display for high color saturations.

“Seventeen years at the top of the commercial display market is the result of listening to our B2B customers and evolving with them,” said Hyoung Jae Kim, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “As businesses change, they need technology that is reliable, simple to manage and ready for what’s next. We’ll continue investing in displays and solutions that help our partners work more efficiently and create better experiences in any space.”

invidis will also highlight developments in the global LCD and LED business in the new invidis Yearbook 2026, which will be published in May at the DSS in Munich.
