Amino Communications has a new owner: Sapphire Technology Group. The acquisition brings the digital signage and PayTV device specialist back into private hands and aims to accelerate product development and long-term growth.

M&A: Amino Acquired by Private Investor
Amino Communications, a provider of device and software solutions for digital signage and PayTV, has been acquired by Sapphire Technology Group Limited (STGL). The move establishes private ownership of the Cambridge, England-based company, aimed at supporting its next phase of growth.
Amino originally started out selling commercial-grade set-top boxes and later branched out into digital signage and enterprise video. The company now develops Android-based devices designed for high reliability and security, enabling a wide range of applications to run on screens, including digital signage. Another central part of Amino’s offering is Orchestrate OS, its remote device management platform that enables remote firmware updates for its devices.
Amino’s new investor, Sapphire, is wholly owned by Keith Todd CBE, who previously served as Chairman of Amino from 2007 to 2019. Todd has extensive experience leading and investing in both public and private technology companies.
Mark Carlisle, CEO of Amino, said: “This investment allows us to intensify our focus on product execution, operational efficiency and customer outcomes. With stable private ownership behind us, we are accelerating innovation across our device and platform portfolio while maintaining the continuity our customers expect.”
Under STGL’s ownership, Amino aims to continue prioritising reliability, scalability and customer satisfaction to support organizations deploying media solutions at scale. Leadership and customer-facing teams at Amino will remain unchanged.
