Wallboard 2.1 arrives as an AI-first digital signage CMS, letting operators manage hundreds of functions via natural language. With the platform update, Wallboard aims to attack Europe and the DACH region.

AI-First CMS: Wallboard Launches MCP Integration
Digital signage ISV Wallboard has performed a major platform update and is releasing Wallboard 2.1. This new CMS version is built as an AI-first CMS, introducing a full AI orchestration stack built on MCP. More than 700 players are already connected to AI workflows through Wallboard’s MCP environment.
This makes Wallboard is one of the first ISVs to bring a fully operational orchestration layer to market. More than 740 platform functions can now be managed through natural language instructions, allowing operators to update content, check device health, trigger workflows, and manage deployments simply by describing what they want to achieve.
CEO Rod Roberson describes the shift as overdue. For years, digital signage platforms have been defined by their dashboards and user interfaces, always balancing complexity with usability. According to Roberson, this model has reached its limits. As enterprise technology stacks become more automated and interconnected, platforms that still require a human sitting in front of a dashboard risk slowing down otherwise streamlined workflows.
Roberson emphasizes that the release goes beyond AI. Wallboard 2.1 represents a wider platform overhaul designed to improve the everyday experience for all users, including those not yet ready to adopt AI managed signage.
Focus on Europe and DACH Region
The launch also marks an expansion of Wallboard’s geographic footprint. The U.S./Hungarian company is investing in sales capacity across the highly competitive DACH region. With a European development hub, Wallboard believes it can respond faster to market needs while meeting European enterprise level security and scalability expectations.
