UK-Integrator: IUF Expands into Germany

British ProAV specialist IUF (Inurface‑Media) is expanding its business into the German market and has opened a new office in Hamburg. With the move, the end‑to‑end AV integrator is responding to increasing demand for its digital solutions in retail, QSR and transport across Germany.

IUF delivers integrated AV environments and large‑format digital signage solutions within existing architectural structures, focusing on transforming static surfaces into dynamic, data‑driven communication channels. The company currently spans the areas of engineering, operations and content, enabling an end‑to‑end project approach.

Thorsten Wien Appointed Managing Partner for Germany

Industry veteran Thorsten Wien (formerly Grassfish, Visualart) will lead IUF’s German operations as Managing Partner. He is responsible for building local structures, developing strategic partnerships and driving IUF’s market presence. With more than 30 years of experience in digital communication and a track record working with major organizations, Wien brings extensive expertise to his new role.

Focus on Connected Environments and Data‑Driven AV

For its German market entry, IUF is combining local expertise with international project experience, including complex deployments in sports retail and hospitality. “Germany is a market that values precision, reliability and performance – traits that align directly with how IUF works,” says Josh Bunce, CEO and founder of IUF.

IUF has been steadily expanding from its UK home market into continental Europe. While the company initially explored a franchise‑based growth model, it has since adjusted its strategy: the German business is now operated as a wholly owned IUF entity.

IUF’s approach links technological infrastructures with physical environments and data‑driven insights. Positioning itself as a full‑service partner, the company goes beyond installation to provide long‑term operational support, monitoring and performance assurance – an increasingly critical requirement in sectors such as retail, QSR and corporate communications.

With its new Hamburg office, IUF is strengthening its international footprint and signalling a clear commitment to the growing German digital signage and ProAV market.
