NRF 2026: Samsung Expands E‑Paper Lineup with Glass-Media

New York City | At NRF 2026, Glass-Media and Samsung are introducing a new generation of e-paper signage accessories, built around Samsung’s 32” EMDX Series Color E‑Paper. The line-up includes a wide range of mounting solutions and enclosures for sustainable alternatives to classic backlit screens.

Samsung E‑Paper displays are all based on E Ink’s non‑illuminated e‑paper technology with a matte surface that closely resembles printed paper. Unlike conventional LCD or LED screens, the displays do not emit light but reflect ambient light, significantly reducing glare and visual fatigue. Now, Samsung has developed a new modular solution together with Dallas, USA-based display specialist Glass-Media as a ready-to-deploy option.

A key differentiator is the battery-powered architecture. Thanks to the extremely low energy consumption of the E‑Paper technology, the displays do not require permanent power connections. This not only simplifies installation – especially in temporary or high-traffic environments – but also supports sustainability goals by lowering overall energy use.

Glass-Media and Samsung position the new lineup as a replacement for static print, rather than a direct competitor to high‑brightness displays. The low‑glare surface reduces screen overstimulation and helps retain a calm visual identity, while still providing the flexibility of digital content management.

The e-paper accessory lineup will be expanded to additional sizes and orientations, complemented by a wide range of mounting solutions and enclosures. Planned configurations include:

  • Floor‑standing digital poster stands
  • Menu boards
  • Table‑top posters
  • End‑cap displays
  • Stanchions and wayfinding elements

Target sectors include retail, foodservice, hospitality, healthcare, and other experience-driven, high‑traffic environments. According to the companies, the solutions offer a portable and modular alternative to both rigid printed signage and permanently installed displays.
