Zara’s Discount Sister: Lefties Enters Germany, UK, France

The fast-fashion brand Lefties, part of the Inditex Group, is set to expand into many new European markets in 2026, bringing the digitally advanced, budget-friendly concept that has already proven successful in Spain.

Zara’s discount sister brand is hitting the accelerator in Europe. Lefties will enter the German market next year with a new store in Düsseldorf – part of an ambitious rollout of 200 additional locations planned across Western Europe. Until now, the brand has focused primarily on its home turf in Spain. Its stores offer minimalist, Gen Z-friendly fashion at super low prices: jeans from €12.99, tops from €7.99. More recently, Lefties has added a home décor line – essentially a budget alternative to Zara Home.

Omnichannel at the core

The shopping experience at Lefties fluidly merges online and in-store retail and is what sets Lefties apart from competitors like Primark. The stores often feature big LED walls, oversized self-checkout terminals, and generous click-and-collect zones. Lefties’ flagship locations also echo the open-space layouts of its sister brands such as Zara – without the usual low-budget aesthetic.

All Inditex brands soon in Germany

Lefties’ expansion will now extend into Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, following the opening of the first store in Italy. The parent company Inditex has yet to reveal the exact Düsseldorf address, but the launch will mark a milestone for the Spanish fast-fashion group: for the first time, Inditex will have its full brand portfolio represented in Germany – Zara, Pull & Bear, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, Bershka, Stradivarius, Zara Home, and now Lefties.

Originally launched in the late 1990s as an outlet channel for unsold Zara items – hence the name, derived from “left-over” – Lefties has since evolved into a standalone brand with its own collections.
