Munich | It’s trade show time again in Munich. Open Space is bringing IAA Mobility 2025 to the heart of the city—featuring immersive experiences on massive LED screens. Here’s an overview from invidis.

IAA Mobility 2025: The Joy of Storytelling
High-tech cars against the backdrop of Munich’s state capital: after a two-year break, the IAA Mobility Open Space has returned. Open to everyone and set against historic landmarks like Königsplatz and Ludwigstraße, automotive brands are showcasing themselves with striking, elaborate pop-up spaces.
The big automotive brands’ stands are the most captivating ones. It’s clear that significant budgets went into architecture, storytelling, and media technology—resulting in immersive experiences worth their own spotlight. That’s why we’ll be dedicating a separate feature to the impressive showcases from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and VW.
Emo-LED and Info-LCD
Elsewhere, more standard setups dominate. Large LED walls remain a staple of car presentations, complemented by the now-obligatory LED lighting overhead. Sometimes it’s integrated seamlessly, other times less so.
Digital signage continues to follow a familiar division of roles: LED delivers emotion, while LCD delivers information. LED screens loop classic ad-style footage, while LCDs—often touch-enabled—offer in-depth product details for curious visitors.
Here are our impressions from the Open Space at IAA Mobility 2025.
