M&A: Econocom Acquires Integrators in the UK and Ireland
Econocom’s acquisition spree continues this week. Following the acquisitions of ICT (Germany) and Avanzia (Spain), today the company announced the acquisition of the Irish ProAV integrator Image Supply Systems Audio Visual (ISSAV) in Dublin and the Smartcomm transaction, which was completed in early 2025. In total Econocom’s European ProAV units generate more than €300 million in revenue annually.
Together, these two acquisitions are expected to enhance Econocom’s ability to implement complex ProAV and digital signage projects in the UK and Ireland.
Through these acquisitions, Econocom is strengthening its team in the UK and Ireland by over 55 AV specialists. Together with its existing teams, the integrator group now offers consulting, design, installation, integration, maintenance, and support for ProAV and digital signage projects in the UK and Ireland.
- Smartcomm (UK) is an established systems integrator – particularly in corporate, university, and public sector projects.
- ISSAV (Dublin, Ireland) has a customer portfolio of over 150 organizations across the education, public, and corporate sectors. Econocom acquired a 67% stake in the AV integrator, while the existing owners retained a 33% stake. Both acquisitions are part of Econocom’s €225 million investment program to consolidate fragmented national AV markets across Europe.
