The Brooklyn Mirage outdoor club is replacing its permanent 270-degree LED backdrop. A kinetic wooden structure featuring a 30K screen with 100 million pixels is taking its place.
The Brooklyn Mirage is a legendary outdoor venue in New York, located within the Avant Gardner event complex, which opened in 2016 in a renovated warehouse. The venue is famous for its 270-degree LED screen that surrounds the audience. However, during this year’s winter break, the LED setup, which was part of the venue’s original aesthetic, is undergoing a technological upgrade.
The existing screen will be replaced with a 30K version that can be fully retracted. With 100 million pixels and over 3,000 LED tiles, the new setup promises even more immersive shows. For DJ performances, this upgrade will provide sharper visuals that sync with the beats.

Kinetic construction made of wood
The standout feature of the renovation is the new kinetic system. When the LEDs are retracted, a tree-like wooden structure will remain, giving the venue a retro look. This structure, which measures 60 by 50 meters and stands 20 meters tall, is really what adds the unique visual element that the owners say is more fit for this generation.

Above the stage, opera-style balconies will provide additional dancing space. The sound system will also be upgraded with a custom L-Acoustics setup, featuring over 100 speakers and subwoofers for powerful beats. Additional improvements include new lighting, signage, ride-sharing zones, and better mobile phone coverage, all aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.
The Avant Gardner team plans to complete the renovation by the end of the winter season, with a grand reopening on May 1. Already, 100 shows are scheduled for 2025, featuring artists like The Chainsmokers, Empire of the Sun, and Sara Landry.
