Rome Airport wants to me more than a transportation hub. The terminals feature state-of-the-art FIDS digital signage next to precious art. Artefacts from the Roman period side-by-side to LED Made in China. History meets Digital.
Aeroporti di Roma sees the airport as a place providing unique and iconic experiences along the customer journey. The aim is to make the ‘Leonardo da Vinci’ airport a vibrant and welcoming place for passengers, as well as a place for expanding cultural knowledge and a stage for promoting Italy’s cultural and artistic heritage.
Why can’t a terminal become a veritable ‘scattered museum’? Aeroporti di Roma established collaborations with institutions, organisations and cultural associations throughout Italy. From Roman artefacts to 14th-century stained-glass windows from the Basilica di Santa Croce in Florence. More than 6 million passengers are passing through the museum area of the airport admiring this timeless artwork, including with guided tours open to everyone. There are also concerts for passengers, opera performances and flashmobs in the departure area periodically transforming the airport into a huge stage.
In stark contrast precious cultural art and artefacts are framed by modern LED and LCD screens displaying live departure information. Easy readable and intuitive to use without human guides.
