AUO corporation, through its subsidiary AUO Display Plus, is set to take over UCC provider Avocor. Only a few details are said to remain before the deal is finalized.
According to several media reports, AUO Display Plus is on the verge of acquiring UCC specialist Avocor. AUO Display Plus is the solutions division of Taiwanese LCD panel manufacturer AUO which has evolved from producing only white label goods to offering products under its own brand in recent years. The final details of the acquisition still need to be clarified, but both companies have reportedly agreed on the deal.
The acquisition is intended to help AUO Display Plus strenghten its presence in the education and corporate sectors. US-based Avocor was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in Wilsonville, Oregon. In recent years, the company has strengthened its presence in Europe and is running its EMEA activities from its London office. Avocor specializes in interactive large-format displays, primarily catering to meeting rooms and classrooms.
In January 2024, AUO Display Plus introduced its new generation of interactive displays with an integrated software platform at ISE. With a similar product range, the acquisition of Avocor is expected to create synergies in product development, marketing, and R&D.
AUO and Avocor have had a partnership since 2022, which paved the way for the current merger. According to the commercial integrator, Avocor CEO Scott Hix will fill the role of General Manager in the AUO Education and Enterprise Business Group as well as the CMO position at AUO Display Plus.
