Seoul | The COEX Center in Gangnam is one of the busiest and best-known locations in Seoul. Global and national brands want to represented, and DOOH is one of their preferred media. Just next to the famous COEX 3D-Billboard from Samsung towers The Panras, a 26-meter-high free-standing LED screen, designed and built by LG.
LG Electronics designed and built the LED landmark at the Grand InterContinental Hotel Parnas near COEX Gangnam in just 75 days, handling everything from the steel framework to the advanced LED technology.
Gangnam is where many of the most important flagship stores, offices, and entertainment venues are located. The district is also the center of DOOH in Seoul, featuring more than 500m²of free-standing LED area, provided by LG.
The display at the InterContinental Hotel Parnas is one of the world’s largest free-standing LED video walls. This double-sided LED covers 536 square meters, standing 28 meters high and 12 meters wide in front of the hotel. Featuring 8.3mm pixel pitch outdoor LEDs and 10,000 nits brightness, it remains highly readable even in direct sunlight. The screen is mainly used for DooH advertising and for news from the South Korean daily newspaper JoonAng Ilbo as well as cinema operator Megabox, both of whom were involved in the project. LG also uses the display for its own advertisements.
