Avixa Report: How to Respond to Tariffs

The US government’s new punitive tariffs and counter-tariffs are affecting industries worldwide – including the digital signage sector. Avixa explains the options available to affected companies in a new meta-report.

A lack of planning certainty is poison for strategic investments. This is why the punitive tariffs imposed by the current U.S. government are painful for many companies in more than one way. The first issue is the direct impact of higher costs for those affected by the tariffs. The second is the uncertainty about when new tariffs might be introduced or existing ones modified.

In his first month in office, U.S. President Trump imposed heavy tariffs on Mexico, Canada, China, and the EU. Some of these tariffs have been postponed or adjusted, while others have faced further increases.

Tariff Response Guide

Avixa, the international organization for the ProAV industry, has created a guide explaining different ways to handle current and future punitive tariffs. While the report mainly focuses on the U.S., companies in other countries can also gain valuable insights on how to deal with tariffs.

Avixa economic expert Peter Hansen summarizes the findings in a video on Avixa TV. He explains that, beyond the challenge of uncertainty, the most obvious solution—switching to domestic products—can also lead to higher costs due to increased demand.
