Mumbai | Along with Swiss-based Navori, Indian CMS platforms presented their digital signage solutions at Infocomm India. One of them is Pickcel, a software provider with more than 100,000 licences. Pickcel is now expanding its focus to Europe and has already secured large accounts in Germany and Austria.
New competition for Europe’s CMS platforms: India’s digital signage software providers are increasingly expanding beyond their home market. Following their growth in the Gulf region (UAE, Saudi Arabia), they are now targeting Europe. Pickcel, a major Indian CMS provider with over 100,000 active licenses across 30 countries, entered the European market in spring 2024. Other providers, like Xtreme Media with more than 30,000 licenses, are also planning to expand to Europe soon.
Software development is one of the core industries in India, especially south of Mumbai. Almost all international companies work with large development teams in cities like Pune and Bangalore, where modern applications are built using the latest IT architecture.
Stratacache, the global leader in digital signage, also maintains its own development team in India. Infosys, one of the largest IT companies in the world, supports and manages global companies with software and infrastructure solutions from India.
Now, tables are turning and India’s digital signage software developers, previously little known in the West, are expanding to Europe, one of them being Pickcel. The company has already had inital successes in the Gulf region and North America and has already attracted notable international customers, including Mercedes-Benz, Amazon, Decathlon, NEC, and Uber.
Large corporations rely on CMS software made in India
In Europe, Pickcel’s customers include Mercedes-Benz in Germany, the healthcare provider Allergosan in Austria, and the fashion retailer BR Mağazacılık in Turkey.
Pickcel is looking for new digital signage integration partners in the DACH region and throughout Europe to jointly win new customers. The digital signage platform runs on numerous devices and systems such as Android, Windows, Raspberry Pi, Linux, and Samsung Tizen OS.
Pickcel’s digital signage managed service offering is also interesting for European partners. The digital signage provider benefits from extensive IT experience and an Indian cost structure that is very competitive compared to Europe.
